Domestic Care


Domestic care is the name used to describe the kind of service that is given to elderly people or to those who have a disability or illness that means that they cannot do certain things for themselves. This level of care involves carers coming into the home to offer a range of services and it means that the person that needs the care can remain at home rather than having to stay in a hospital or care home. Domestic care can be given on a permanent or temporary basis depending on the needs of the individual.

There are all kinds of services that can be offered by domestic carers. These include:



Some services here will be offered by the state and many are offered free of charge. Some services may only be offered by private firms of domestic carers and will incur a cost. In some cases people will be given money from the state to pay towards buying private services here if they are not offered in their local area.
